Album | Sons of Noel and Adrian – Knots

Sons of Noel and Adrian is more than just a band. The group is filled with English folk’s undercover movers and shakers; whether through the Willkommen Collective, extensive touring, or the other bands in which its members take part, the…

Tour: Tristram & Laish

It’s no secret that FFS are stonking great big fans of Tristram.  Of course we are.  The man makes the most heart-searing noises with his bare mouth.  We liked his ‘Someone Told Me a Poem’ EP so much we raved…

Live: FFS @ The Great Escape

Peggy Sue announce ICA show and entertain the Climate Rush Roadshow

Peggy Sue have gathered together some supremely talented friends and booked in for a headline gig at the ICA on November 6th. As well as the inevitably magnificent performance from this much-beloved threesome, there will be performances from mega-band Sons of Noel and Adrian (at last count there were 12 of them), ethereal wonder Mechanical Bride, and good time girls Lulu and the Lampshades

Antony's top 12 albums

Mr Antony Charmers – who runs the very lovely Moonshine Jambouree – was not overly impressed with For Folk’s Sake’s top 12 albums of the year, (I know, how VERY dare he!) so we asked him to put together an…

Live Review: Willkommen Collective @ The Union Chapel, 5th June 2009

The Union Chapel was bedecked with mildly disturbing papier mache animals, swirling waves, giant trees and sugar paper bunting in the shapes of autumn leaves for Willkommen’s coming out gig at the Union Chapel, where we were treated to the full range of the collective’s talents.
