Single Review: It Hugs Back – Workday

Indie folksters It Hugs Back have released ‘Work Day’ their first single taken from their debut album Record Room, due to be released at the start of next year.

The sleepy autumnal vocals are juxtaposed with jangly guitar on this end-of-summer release. The 7″ would be worth buying for the artwork alone, were it not also a great track. Which it is.

Au Revoir Simone’s Bird of Music remixed, covered by Slow Club

A remixed version of New York keyboardists Au Revoir Simone’s debut LP The Bird of Music will be released on November 11th.

The new album, entitled Reverse Migration, features a cover of The Lucky One by For Folk’s Sake darlings Slow Club alongside remixes by Jean-BenoĆ®t Dunckel of Air and Keith Murray from We Are Scientists. It will be released by Au Revoir Simone’s own label: Our Secret Recording Company.

The Research are back! Album news and live dates

Casio keyboard-wielding Wakefield trio The Research are back with their second album and a UK tour after a lengthy hiatus.

After the success of their debut album Breaking Up, the band went on to record its follow-up, but were plagued with record label politics. Having split from EMI last year, they are back with new offering The Old Terminal. The album will be released on 27th October.
