#46 Gavin James – Carolina

I’ve never been to Dublin or any of its pubs, but have long been told it’s worth the trip. Principally, I had understood this was to indulge my taste for a pint of the black stuff, but if this is the standard of the musical fare in the city’s bars I’m going to need to look into flights. Gavin James spent most of the last three years playing as many of the Irish capital’s night spots as he could before releasing his Say Hello EP late last year, a record that earned him the Song of the Year prize at the Meteor Choice Awards. ‘Carolina’ goes down as smooth as a well-crafted stout.
