The amazing graphic artist, promoter, photographer, videomaker and superfan (and our friend) Anika Mottershaw launched her first book last night at Strongrooms in London with performances from The Head & the Heart, Laura Hocking & the Long Goodbye and Peggy Sue.
Anika is a huge music fan and prolific gig-goer. The book is a selection of her drawings and comics, many of which tell stories of the bands she loves and concerts she’s been to all in her own funny and inimitable style.
Here at FFS we’ve been introduced to swathes of amazing music by Anika – including Beach House, She Keeps Bees, Sharon Van Etten, Wildbirds & Peacedrums and Scary Mansion. And a lot of great bands have benefitted from her enthusiasm and tireless promotion of their music to her friends and readers.
Anika’s a true lover of music, and works so hard on behalf of the artists she believes in for all the right reasons. We’re very proud to call her our pal.
You can buy Anika’s book, published by Something in Construction Records, at Rough Trade.
