#364 Sóley – I’ll drown

Did you know Iceland sits across both the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates? It does. Consider that your Geography lesson for the day.

Sóley is from this exciting land of hot lagoons, magic mud and confused tectonic allegiances. Part of wonder-collective Seabear, her solo work switches their tingly indie optimism for something altogether gloomier, as the vividly atmospheric ‘I’ll Drown’ shows. Waterfalls of tears threaten to drown us in our own homes and electronically distorted voices, taps and whirs consume the listener.
