#45 Tiny Ruins – Rolling Mill Blues

We at FFS bow to no one, except possibly Tom Ravenscroft, in our love for Tiny Ruins’ 2011 debut album Some Were Meant For Sea – so news of new material was just a little bit exciting. The fact that the new material is actually old material – the upcoming Haunts EP comprises recordings of six tracks Hollie Fullbrook and friends were playing before Some Were Meant For Sea came along – matters not one bit, because it’s every bit as good. Fullbrook says the EP is not “a ‘taster’ of what is to come, but of what was before…quite a bluesy one”. ‘Rolling Mill Blues’, a cover of a 1929 track by Peg Leg Howell, shows off the new/old sound perfectly.
