#39 Asgeir Trausti – Dýrð í dauðaþögn

Asgeir Trausti is just 20 years of age, but in his home country of Iceland he’s already a pretty big deal. Indeed, as the fastest-selling Icelandic debut artist of all time, a winner of the Kraumur Award and a nominee for the Nordic Music Prize, he’s a very big deal. He’s collaborated with John Grant (also, arguably, a reasonably big deal) to produce an English version of his debut album Dyrd i daudatho (which, according to our best translation, means In The Silence). Featuring lyrics written by his 72-year-old father, Trausti brings his music to life with a striking voice and a lush, acoustic sound. Enjoy.
