Kurran & The Wolfnotes to headline festival fundraiser

FNR

For Folk’s Sake favourites Kurran & The Wolfnotes are to headline a fundraiser for the International Youth Arts Festival in London next month. Folk ‘n’ Roll, which will be compered by TV’s Matt Lucas, a patron of the IYAF, also features FFS New Bands Panel alums Tiny Birds, as well as Let’s Get Science, Little Sister Blue and Tara London.

Funds from the gig will go towards the 2011 International Youth Arts Festival, which will be held at the same venue, the Rose Theatre in Kingston, next July. Kurran & The Wolfnotes released their single Your Four Limbs last month and have been picking up plaudits ever since, and this gig will cap an exciting year for the band. Tiny Birds are in the final stages of recording their debut album, which they hope to release early next year.

The night will be opened by the soulful Tara London before Little Sister Blue brings her sweet-sounding folk to the stage following the recent release of her Incidentally Yours to Keep EP. Let’s Get Science then promise to tear up the stage with their lively mix of folk and ska.

Tickets for Folk ‘n’ Roll are £5 and are available from www.rosetheatrekingston.org or by calling 0871 230 1552 or from the Rose Theatre in person.
