Communion plans free shows and live compilation album

The first Communion compilation

The first Communion compilation

Communion, the clubnight and label started by Kevin Jones of Cherbourg and Ben Lovett of Mumford & Sons, has announced its second compilation will be recorded over a series of sessions and live shows at The Flowerpot in Kentish town next week.

A soon-to-be-announced line-up of bands will be doing exclusive free shows downstairs in the venue. And a temporary studio will be set up upstairs.

The Flowerpot’s website says: “Songs will be written, songs will be recorded, gigs will be played, gigs will be recorded, photos will be taken and films will be made. The whole thing will then be compiled into a double album that will be released later in the year. As we said, pretty exciting. For this week doors will be opening at 7pm and closing at 11pm.”

Communion’s first compilation featured tracks from Mumford & Sons, Johnny Flynn, Broadcast 2000, Alessi’s Ark and many more. Read FFS’s review here.
