Do not let Copper Viper’s minimalist presentation fool you. As folk duos do, their dynamics may be clean and precise, but they are most certainly not without their intricacies. Just as the Milk Carton Kids would go on to wow out of Eagle Rock with their deceptively lively charms, Robin Joel Sangster and Duncan Menzies would present a similar rootsy warmth from across the pond. The London duet bring their undeniably British musicality to proceedings, injecting a reinvigorating individuality on a road map that many wrongly perceive only to have been recently paved by American artists.

Copper Viper’s ‘Hung Up Alone’ is the duo’s latest foray into the folk soundscape, a cut from off of their highly acclaimed debut album. The single is a soaring affair, replete with all of the exactness and heart that one might expect from a full string band. Just two individuals are able to make such beautiful, full music together, as always, producing one clap-along good time while they’re at it. Their barn-stompin’ video is reflective of just as much, directed by Justin McAleese at Blare Media.
