News | Bellowhead, Levellers among Cambridge headliners

Bellowhead and the Levellers have been announced as two of the headliners for this year’s Cambridge Folk Festival.

The pair top the bill on on the two biggest stages on the Friday night of the July event, while the newly-reformed Mavericks and KT Tunstall do the honours on Saturday. The four are among a number of bands announced today, which also included Heidi Talbot and Larkin Poe, with the likes of Lucy Rose and Willy Mason already having been confirmed.

Bellowhead won best album forĀ Broadside at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards in January while folk-punk favourites the Levellers’ most recent release was last year’s Static On The Airwaves. Irish singer-songwriter Talbot recently released her latest solo offering, Angels Without Wings, to wide acclaim.

The 49th Cambridge Folk Festival will take place at Cherry Hinton Hall from July 25-28. More acts, including headliners for Thursday and Sunday, will be announced soon and booking information is available at theirĀ website. The full list of names announced so far can be seen here.
