Decemberists to play Hazards of Love at London shows

The Decemberists are to play two UK gigs in November, their first in two years. The shows, both in London, will see the Decemberists play the whole of their recent album, the ‘rock opera’ Hazards of Love along with favourites from their back catalogue.

The Hazards of Love, which is never off the stereo long here at FFS towers, tells the story of an ill-fated couple whose lives are complicated rather a lot by a villainous rake and an evil forest queen. It’s nominated in FFS’s Schmercury awards – our best album shortlist. You can vote for your favourite here

Frontman Colin Meloy said the album was initially conceived as a musical. So FFS is hoping for elaborate costumes and sets as well as appearances from collaborators Becky Stark from Lavender Diamond and My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden. Here‘s a taster from a gig in Boston.

Tickets are on sale now £18.50 plus booking fees and whatnot.

Dates:
London Forum (November 18) tickets from Ticketmaster or Kentish Town Forum
London Coronet (19) tickets from TicketWeb or See Tickets
