Folk stars surprise west London gig-goers

A capacity crowd was treated to more than they bargained for at Mumford and Sons‘ Blue Flowers gig at George IV in Chiswick on 7th September.

The last Blue Flowers night, which was billed as Mumford and Sons supported by Parisian songstress Soko, also featured Laura Marling, Jamie T, Noah and the Whale frontman Charlie Fink, Jay Jay Pistolet and Kid Harpoon.

Despite having been in the studio for the past few months, Jamie T stormed through old favourites Back in the Game and Sheila, further fuelling the already electric atmosphere.

Mumford and Sons’ set was as mind-blowing as always, with the crowd stamping and singing along.

Gig-goer Rich Matthews said: “The pub was buzzing, it was the best gig of my life. I saw a few of the acts around and guessed there might be some guests but I never expected this.”
