‘Landslide’ opens up with Vincent Colbert’s soft, almost whispering voice, over a shaker and mellow acoustic strumming. Upon going into the chorus, he adds a bit of slide guitar and some voicing, which culminates into a drum beat, really propelling the song forward.

The song, written in early June in the backyard of his parent’s place in rural Pennsylvania, mixed in Michigan, another former home, is ultimately a roadmap of moments and experiences that lead to the final destination of catharsis. It’s interesting to hear the lyrics and emotion of the song change and morph depending on where Vincent Colbert was at the moment. Ultimately, this song provides insight into Vincent Colbert’s emotional state throughout a long and arduous journey to find home. All and all, a beautiful song.

‘Landslide’ is featured on Vincent Colbert’s album Unwind, which was released on May 6.
