#43 Anne-Marie Sanderson – Follow You

However you go about getting there, it’s a long way from London to Portland, Oregon. But it’s even further if you go via busking stints in France and what we’re told was a time spent yodelling in the Swiss Alps. But that was the journey Anne-Marie Sanderson undertook before settling in a city that has long had a bustling music scene, but one better known for garage-rock and punk-rock before the rise of adopted son Elliott Smith and later the Decemberists. Now well established on the local circuit, Sanderson has been building up a collection of songs and this week unveiled her latest set in the form of the Eloquence EP – from which the dream-like ‘Follow You’ has caught our ears.
