Video | Michael P Cullen – ‘Do You Believe?’

Following in the footsteps of Leonard Cohen, Michael P Cullen is, in many ways, a poet before he is a musician. That isn’t to say that he isn’t musically inclined, or that his lingering baritone has an unpleasant quality. Rather, that is to say that the sheer depth of his lyricism is so grand that one would be remiss to not focus forthrightly and intently on the words that he sings.

Such is the case in the rising “indie romance” artist’s latest single, ‘Do You Believe?’ Elevated by its foreboding musical structure, Cullen looms over the track with his trademark vocals to deliver a story that, despite its vaguer inclinations, ultimately relates itself well to any listener who’s felt love and heartbreak. The story invoked into the accompanying music video for the song would further relay as much, which you can see below.
