The Leisure Society: new album and tour dates

FFS favourites The Leisure Society have announced that their second album ‘Into The Murky Water’, will be released on Monday May 2nd 2011.

The band’s first album ‘The Sleeper’ won FFS’s best album poll in 2009.

Songwriter Nick Hemming has been twice nominated for an Ivor Novello award for best song. Once for ‘The Last of the Melting Snow’ and again for ‘Save it for Someone Who Cares’.

The Leisure Society – part of the Willkommen Collective – are a seven-strong troupe of marvellously talented musicians and singers, and Nick says the world wouldn’t have heard his songs without the support of the band.

He told FFS, “Christian [Hardy] had a huge amount of confidence in my songwriting, without him it’s unlikely The Leisure Society would ever have existed outside of my flat.”

The Leisure Society will tour in May in support of the album. See them at one of these dates:
3rd May Brighton Komedia
4th May Bristol Thekla
5th May Nottingham Rescue Rooms
7th May Leeds Brudenell Social Club
8th May Glasgow King Tuts
