Video Premiere | Saw Black – Water Tower

In the 21st century, Saw Black defines the term “Americana”. Raised on music, the artist first tried his hand at playing himself once his jazz pianist grandfather gifted him an electric guitar when he was 11. From there, Saw’s gone on to become a roots-defining self-made man, co-owning and producing for Crystal Pistol Records and fronting a successful band both on tour and in the studio. All of this is culminating in his sophomore LP, Water Tower, out on 18 May on both his Crystal Pistol imprint as well as WarHen—a fitting, and glorious, follow-up to his underground debut, Azalea Days.

With all of this in mind, it comes as no surprise that the titular track from off of Black’s forthcoming album is as brilliant as it is. It’s a simultaneously sweet and savory slice of Virginia Americana that features a slew of water towers from his Richmond home in its accompanying music video. Something about it invites a warm feeling of nostalgia to its audience, even upon one’s first listen, which you could provide it below.

Water Tower is available for vinyl pre-order.
