News | Magic Numbers hit the road

Magic Numbers posterThe Magic Numbers are heading out on their first ever acoustic tour later this year as they prepare for the release of their fourth album.

The four-piece are avoiding many of the usual live music hot spots and are instead hitting smaller towns, playing a selection of theatres, churches and alternative venues. The band are also promising question-and-answer sessions with their audiences.

The tour begins in Exeter on September 6 and concludes at Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre on October 4, with an as yet untitled record – the follow-up to 2010’s The Runaway – tentatively scheduled for the start of next year.

Frontman Romeo Stodart said: “We always try to approach every new release as if it’s our first – always with the same level of drive and excitement.

“It’s an intense period for us, making a record – we push ourselves to create something different and exciting with every album; but we also tend to shut ourselves off from the world, so I’m really excited to be getting back out there.

“This new album has some of the best songs I’ve ever written, so I’m really eager for people to hear it.”

Tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday. For full details, see the band’s website.
