The Allotment #2 this Wednesday: Alessi’s Ark, Dufflefolks, Momeraths…

3 November 2009
By Lynn Roberts

Hot off the heels of an immense success in October, The Allotment is back this Wednesday for a second installment.  Lynn FFS and Anika of in London fame have gathered together a gaggle of happily talented musicians, one of the best cake bakers in the land, and bacon on coathangers (!? – that Anika’s a kooky character).

This month’s line-up is just as exciting as the last.  Alessi’s Ark (who manned the door for a while at the previous Allotment) headlines with her own peculiar and wonderful brand of magical, spirited folk music.  Live review here, album review here, interview here (we likes her, we do). Also gracing the garden stage will be The Dufflefolks, guest blog here, EP review here The Momeraths, EP Review here and Brooke Parrott – listen here.

The basement of the Betsey Trotwood is once again going to be thoroughly decked out with handmade decorations, and there’ll be some  Allotment paraphernalia on sale including Anika in London comics drawn straight onto canvas bags.  We’ve also branched out into FFS mugs and t-shirts, featuring our own dear Cockerel.

Doors are at 7.30pm with the first band on at 8.30. Tickets cos £5 or £6 with a handmade programme. The Betsey’s nearest tube is Farringdon and the address is 56 Farringdon Rd, Clerkenwell, London, EC1R 3BL.

We reached capacity pretty swiftly last month, so get down early to avoid disappointment.  We hope to see you there!

Words: Lynn Roberts and Helen True
