Emmy the Great New EP, London show and message for Gordon Brown

Since the undeniable wonder of the album First Love, Emmy the Great has been touring like a superwoman, planning a tour of Asia and preparing for Glastonbury, but she’s still squeezed in time to record a new EP.  ‘Edward’ will be released in July on limited 12″ vinyl and MP3, and after that will be included in all new issues of First Love.

Emmy will headline at Queen Elizabeth Hall on Sunday July 19th to launch the EP, where she will be joined by Aidan Moffat and Sleeping States for an evening of stark, savage beauty (we expect).  You can buy tickets for this posh ol’ sit-down affair here.

Emmy and her band will also be interviewing bands this weekend at Glastonbury on behalf of Wateraid to highlight their child’s play campaign.  They’ll be petitioning Gordon Brown to give time to the issue of water sanitation at next week’s G8 summit, and encourage us all to sign this petition

The interviews will be uploaded, via the wonder of the iPhone, to Wateraid’s youtube channel as they happen.
