Mumford and Sons play secret West London book club sessions

Are Mumford and Sons the most right-on band ever? It might be the case. Yesterday they took to the independent bookshops of West London to record sessions for Radio 1 and to promote the chain-free stores too. What nice chaps.

Sons of Noel and Adrian and Peggy Sue play free gig this Sunday

This Sunday’s free Bandstand Busk will be a particularly special one, so far as FFS are concerned, featuring as it will two of our very favourite bands. Troubador and -esses Peggy Sue, and bigger-than-a-football team Sons of Noel and Adrian will be appearing at Northampton Square Bandstand from 3pm on Sunday, 6th September.

Peggy Sue announce ICA show and entertain the Climate Rush Roadshow

Peggy Sue have gathered together some supremely talented friends and booked in for a headline gig at the ICA on November 6th. As well as the inevitably magnificent performance from this much-beloved threesome, there will be performances from mega-band Sons of Noel and Adrian (at last count there were 12 of them), ethereal wonder Mechanical Bride, and good time girls Lulu and the Lampshades

Mumford and Sons unveil Little Lion Man Video

Verge-of-a-breakthrough band Mumford and Sons have released their debut video out into the internets.

The foursome, who FFS interviewed when they were just six months old, play to an empty venue with as much vigour as they played to a packed borderline this week in the video, which is available on their myspace.

Daniel Johnston to release first new album in six years.

Lo-fi legend Daniel Johnston has turned his back on his traditional homemade recordings and teamed up with Beck and Paul McCartney producer Jason Falkner for his forthcoming album Is And Always Was.

The album, which will be released 6th October, has high-level production and features Falkner on guitar, bass and keyboards.

On the back of the success of 2006 documentary The Devil and Daniel Johnston, Daniel has also signed independent filmmakers Regererate to make a feature length film about his life.

Jeremy Warmsley announces various projects and tour

Jeremy Warmsley’s never been one to rest on his laurels, but the man’s really excelling himself in the next few months. Not only is he debuting his new band, Acres, Acres, this week at two London venues, producing lovely covers with the Little Words, and taking himself off to the big apple, he’s also putting together a tour for October. Fwooft.

St Vincent Live Session and Tour

Schmercury nominee and undeniable genius Annie Clark (or St Vincent, to her fans) has recorded a live performance with Fever Lake Sessions, which incorporates tracks from her stupendous album, Actor.

Theoretical Girl album release and London gigs

Theoretical Girl’s debut album, Divided, is released today, and this auspicious occasion will be celebrated with a launch party at The Lexington before the lady herself puts in a free instore performance at Pure Groove this Wednesday.
